THEY DID IT!!  These ladies have had a stellar season and nothing but praise and celebration came from Coach Greg, Coach Mike and Coach Kerrie when summarizing this years achievements as the ladies received both the League Championship and League Cup Championship trophies this past weekend!

One year ago these ladies were playing on a smaller field with a shorter game time, 9v9 and with a retreat line!  You would never know this was the same team.  These ladies have grown both on and off the field and this year brought a level of maturity and responsibility that translated to a more mental approach to the game on the pitch.  This team has adapted to a level and style of play that most teams don't achieve this early in their soccer game and with that they earned high rewards this season!

Add to that the fact that we entered this season with Abi Benard becoming a brand new goalie!  Abi has truly shown her capabilities between the posts and has secured herself the confidence of her teammates allowing Abi to do what she does best - become a true force in the back of field!  Her teammates would agree that nobody wants to be on the receiving end of her aggressive approach to an opponent entering her territory!!

These girls played 19 league games this season and put 80 shots in to the back of their opponents net!  Team scoring leader Daniella Murdoch was responsible for 17 of those goals followed closely behind by Sydney Klauck with 16.  It says something truly special about this team that 7 team members landed themselves in with the top 10 scoring leaders this season.  In addition to Murdoch and Klauck, Haley Chevalier, Hannah Seymour, Sara Walsh, Jenna Sandel & Jayla Eaton earned their place in the top stats this season.

Here is a summary of these ladies achievements this year:

**  Finalists in the Walter Kirchner Memorial Tournament in Woodstock, ON

**  Champions in the inaugural Revolution Soccer tournament in West Lincoln

**  Champions of the U13 Girls division of the Niagara Soccer League

**  Champions of the U13 Girls Niagara Soccer League - League Cup

To finish off the season, these ladies will be travelling to Erie, Pennsylvania this weekend to showcase their talent at the Elite Challenge Cup!  GO STORM!!

Thank you to Revolution Soccer Camps!  They hosted their inaugural tournament last weekend and it is with pride that we took the title as their first U13 Girls Champions!!

An early morning tourney opener set these ladies on a good pace defeating Lincoln 8-0!  Thanks to all of our parents for contributing to our team BBQ in between games and to Matt for taking over the grill!  It may have worked against us, however, as we fell short to Hamilton Sparta 4-0 later that afternoon.

After a good rested sleep, the girls came back fresh Sunday morning with a 3-0 win over St. Catharines Roma!  The girls were in "The Zone" and completely focused for the upcoming final game putting them up against Sparta again.

The girls fought hard and used all of their skills to hold Sparta to a 1-0 lead. Just before the half, Jayla Eaton launched a beauty shot from well outside the 18 over the keepers reach to tie it up!!  Both teams fought hard to push ahead in the second half but the battle remained tied at the end of regulation time.  Shoot outs determined the final outcome and with another well placed shot by Jayla and a second by Sara Walsh, PC Storm took the title!!!  Abi Benard was stellar in her first shoot out and earned the win for the Storm ladies!

This marks the second time this season that the ladies have found themselves in the final.  Conditioning proving to be the key piece of the puzzle as they continue to tire their opponents and their unmatched chemistry keeps them from letting up.  A nail biter of a finish but the product of pure passion.  Way to show them how it's done!!
