The 2018 season left the U12 Storm Girls sitting at the top of the charts leaving Grimsby Griffins in 2nd place!  What a better way to prepare for a new season playing on the regulation size field, 11v11 with a couple more teammates than to play a friendly, pre-season exhibition game against our closest competition.

Coming off a successful weekend, the U13 Storm Girls geared up to face Grimsby Griffins on their home turf.  Having one substitute on the bench meant playing 80 hard minutes with little down time.

In true Storm fashion, we capitalized on our opportunities and worked out some kinks.  Passing was brought under control, defense was pressured and field position was managed from the sidelines.  The whole point of pre-season play is to work on these game elements.

IT WORKED!  Sydney Klauck found the sweet spot in front of the net 4 times!!  Sitting at a 4-4 tie late in the 2nd half, Daniella Murdoch slammed one past the Grimsby keeper bringing home the game winner and showing Grimsby they still have some competition coming from Port Colborne!

Looking forward to kicking off the regular season on Monday, May 27th ....
